More Festival fun planned for 2011! The 2010 Llanelli Festival of Walks held at the end of May was, all agreed, another resounding success. Visitors and locals, members and non-members, shared and enjoyed the walks - a choice of 18 including sections of Ffordd y Bannau (the Beacons Way), Cenarth Falls, Dylan Thomas' Laugharne, and Britain's newest racecourse, Ffos Las, to name but a few, as well as, for the first time, local walks arranged for and led by our youngest walkers – an innovation we hope to repeat in 2011. Also included of course were the usual popular social events, from the get-together on the Friday evening, through the Festival Party and on to Monday's farewell Welsh Tea. |

This will be the 16th annual festival, an event that has attracted hundreds of visitors to the town, including many who come year after year.

Llanelli's Festival is believed to be the only one that is run entirely by Ramblers' Group members. The aim is simply to stage an enjoyable weekend that raises Llanelli's profile as an excellent centre for walking, so that its footpaths and countryside are appreciated and cared for. Another aim is to break even financially, and with everyone working on a voluntary basis, plus support from local councils and other organisations, the walks fee for the entire weekend is currently just £15 - including all coach travel to and from walks - and this is unlikely to change appreciably, if at all, for 2011. This will be confirmed as soon as the 2011 programme is prepared. |

And as soon as it is, it will be published on this website - including the booking form to print and post off. So... please make a note in your diary to keep in touch with this website – and to keep the 2010 Spring Bank Holiday weekend free for another fun time of walking and socialising in Llanelli. |

Alternatively, if you would like to receive a printed copy of the programme, you can e-mail us now at festival@llanelliramblers.org.uk with your name and address and a copy will be sent to you as soon as it is ready. |
