Rattlin' Bog return for 2009 festival! Planning for the 2009 Llanelli Festival of Walks is currently in the early stages, but one event, an innovation in 2008, is already assured. The Twmpath - a Welsh "barn dance" with caller and music from Rattlin' Bog - will again be a highlight of the social programme. The festival - this will be the 14th - as always will be over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend, with get-together and welcome on Friday 22nd May and the farewell Welsh Tea on Monday the 25th. In between there will be the usual wide selection of walks to suit all ages and abilities covering the most attractive areas in south and west Wales.

| As soon as the 2009 Festival Programme is prepared it will be reproduced here on this website with all the details needed to plan your festival weekend. The cost per person for the walks over the whole weekend in 2008 was just £15, including coach transport to and from walks, with half-price for children and special rates for groups. Increases in the price of petrol may bring a small rise in 2009 but hopefully not a significant one. | |||||
The amazingly low walks fees are made possible as Llanelli Ramblers run the event on a non-profit basis, the main aim being to raise the profile of our footpaths and countryside so they are valued and cared for. The group is believed to be the only one that organises its own walks festival without outside help (apart from some much appreciated local financial support). |

So please make a note in your diary to keep in touch with this website - and to keep the 2009 Spring Bank Holiday weekend free for another fun time of walking and socialising in Llanelli. |
