A Successful 2018 Festival of Walks
The 2018 Festival of Walks – the 23rd since its small beginnings in 1995 – took place over the late Spring Bank Holiday weekend and proved to be another successful event in the Llanelli Ramblers calendar. The weather was kind to us and the walks were varied, as can be seen on the programme to be found on the Archive page of this website, and were well received by the many visitors and members who took part.
Thanks go to all those volunteers who organised, led and back-marked the walks, to the Festival Committee, not forgetting the Welsh Tea Ladies who provided a magnificent spread for the returning walkers at the end of the Festival, and last but not least the dedicated Llanelli Ramblers members who stayed beside their phones ready to deal with any unforeseen emergencies – of which, happily, there were none.
Thanks too to the three local authorities – Llanelli Town and Rural Councils and Carmarthenshire County Council, Rexton Outdoor in Swansea, the Principality Building Society, the Selwyn Samuel Centre Llanelli, and Gwynne Price Coaches, for their ongoing support for the Festival.
Preparations for the 2019 Festival are underway and as soon as it is ready the programme will appear on this page with all the details needed to plan and book your festival weekend.
